BACKGROUND: A dongle is a small piece of hardware that attaches to either a usb or parallel port. The dongle allows access to the program you have paid for as long as the software program can “read”the key. However problems do occur. SafeNet (who recently bought dongle maker Rainbow Technologies) had to create a “new and improved housing” for their dongles that was shorter and could withstand more force. So if you are one of the unlucky ones that used the old dongle, you only need to blame the company for making a product that was too big and that would break off and hope your laptop or desktop wasn’t damaged in the process. Other problems include unsupported products, unsupported operating systems, malfunctioning devices, software & driver conflicts, and computers that do not have a printer port.
SOLUTIONS:If you ever cursed at a dongle and wondered “there has to be a better way”, look no further. We wondered the same thing all the way back in 1991. What we developed was a software solution, a virtual dongle, that has all the functionality of the hated device, but none of the problems. We can replace all the major brands such as Hasp & Sentinel and even some older brands that are no longer being manufactured or supported such as the Activator, the Sentinel Pro, Scout, Scribe and C.
PROCEDURE: Please fill out the order form or send us an email and include the information requested. We’ll send you a file to read your lock device and then replace it with our virtual Rival Lock product.
COST: We’d love to sell all our products for just $1, but that wouldn’t begin to cover the hundreds of man hours and lab time it took to do the impossible; develop a software lock replacement for each dongle. So the cost begins at $595 for some of the older products and is higher for the newer lock devices, more complicated programs and operating systems. We’ll be able to tell you more when we have all your information.
